Donations of non-perishable food items to symbolically fill 50-foot Watchtower, tallest formation at Natural Bridge Caverns

San Antonio, Texas (December 1, 2016) Natural Bridge Caverns is kicking off its Cans n’ Caves Food Drive by challenging area youth organizations to donate non-perishable food items to symbolically fill the Watchtower, which at 50 feet is the tallest formation at the Caverns.

Groups are invited to bring their donations for the Watchtower Challenge to Natural Bridge Caverns from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. The prize for the group turning in the most food is a one-day, all attractions pass to Natural Bridge Caverns for everyone in the group. This includes admission to the caverns tour, zip line, Explorer course and more.

The Cans n’ Caves Food Drive begins with the Watchtower Challenge and continues through December 23. In addition to the food donated at the Watchtower Challenge, for every paying guest at “Christmas at the Caverns,” Natural Bridge Caverns will donate $2 to the Food Bank, and every paying guest who brings two nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank will get a $2 gift card to use for food, beverage or retail items at the park.

The food drive is part of “Christmas at the Caverns,” which combines the sights and sounds of the holidays with the underground world of natural beauty and amazement of Natural Bridge Caverns. “Christmas at the Caverns” is open nine nights beginning Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 and continuing December 17 through 23.

“Christmas at the Caverns” includes:

Caroling in the Caverns, filling the spectacular Caverns with the sounds of Christmas.

Christmas Village, a Hill Country Christmas town sparkling in holiday decorations and lights with a 30-foot tall, fully decorated tree, a light show synchronized to holiday music, and much more.
