Checklist Before your visit:
• Call for current rates (our best school rates are available for groups choosing to visit during the months of December through February).
• Clear field trip with school authorities.
• Secure buses or other transportation to the Caverns.
• Make reservations with Natural Bridge Caverns (please call as far in advance as possible: some popular days are filled months in advance).
• Verify date and time on written confirmation you receive from Natural Bridge Caverns.
• Send home permission slips.
• Collect money from students as well as from any parents/chaperones who are attending.
• Remember on the Discovery Tour, you get one free teacher pass for every 20 tickets purchased!
• No personal checks or personal credit cards can be accepted for group payments. You must pay with a check or credit card from your school, organization, or district.
• Payments should include the cost of students, teachers and parents.
• For tax-exempt gift shop and snackbar purchases: You must pay with a check or credit card from your school, organization or district.
• No cash, personal checks or personal credit cards can be accepted for tax-exempt purchases. Fax or bring a completed and signed Tax Exemption Certificate.
• The name on the certificate should match the name of the tax-exempt organization on the check or credit card.
• For your convenience we can invoice your school. Please have a purchase order or other paperwork that is required by your district with you when you arrive.
On the day of your visit:
• Obtain final count of how many students in each grade, teachers and parents/chaperones are present and planning to take the tour.
• Allow plenty of driving time to reach Natural Bridge Caverns by your scheduled time.
• Give final count to Ticket Office upon arrival and present your entire group payment.
• Our staff will greet your group out at your bus and direct each group where to line up.
• Have a wonderful time with your students as they attend school in a unique experience outside of the classroom!
Please remember (and help your students to remember):
• This is an all-walking tour. The length is 3/4 mile (1.21 KM) and descends 180 feet (54.86 meters) below the surface. Please consider any limiting physical conditions before entering the caverns.
• Cavern temperature is 70°F (21°C) and relative humidity is 99%. Cavern trails are steep and wet.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes which provide good traction on steep, wet surfaces.
• Do not touch or damage the formations, walls and ceilings. Stay on trail and behind tour guide.
• No food or drinks are permitted in the Cavern. Deposit all trash in containers.
• No smoking or chewing gum permitted in the Visitors’ Center or Cavern.
• Do not throw coins into the water.
• Students must be under adult supervision at all times when in the Gift Shops.
• Sack lunches are not permitted in the Visitors’ Center.
